Barefoot Photography

I needed a baby...

And look who answered the call. 

About 3 weeks ago I bought a very unique basket from an antique store and I needed a little newbie to go in it before the weather changed.  Well, last weekend, during out 100 degree weather, this little beauty came to play.  (Isn't this a FUN basket?)

 
Not only did she fall asleep minutes after we got started, she laid in the basket without fussing or trying to wiggle out.  This is my kind of baby!

Since she was so easy going we just had to have some fun in the studio too...

                     Thanks for bringing your little one to see me, she is a beauty!  (Hope she's still sleeping like a super star for you. :)

What's more fun than one bride trashing a dress?

FIVE brides trashing dresses!!  Some of you may remember a number of months ago when I was on the lookout for a "posse" of ladies willing to trash their wedding gowns.  Well here are the fabulous results of our day of FUN!!  (Brace yourself, lots of images to follow...)

We started in the morning with a few shots in the studio....

 

Then we moved on to this beautiful location with lots of green and fabulously dilapidated buildings....

We took a little trip through the gorge and stopped by the Vista House for a bit...

Last, we headed downtown...Portland is such a beautiful city, with plenty of wonderful places.  And yes, we turned a few heads as we walked through the streets.... :)

I LOVE this shot....I won't tell you what caused such laughter, that's our little secret.  ;)

And now....for my favorite part of the day.  The wonderful Salmon Street Springs Fountain!  Imagine the crowd these ladies drew as the danced and spun in the spray!

Ladies, I had a blast!  Seriously, one of my favorite days of shooting ever.  Thank you so much for being so fabulous and up for anything!  I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do...

I'm not the only one...

Perhaps I am the only one you have ever met, but I am not the only barefooter out there.  Check out this fabulous website dedicated to the unshod.  http://www.barefooters.org/  It's full of wonderful information about barefooters and being barefoot.  For example, did you know that it is a myth that it is illegal to drive barefoot?  It's true, there is no law that says you must wear shoes when behind the wheel.

Maddie is a beautiful person, inside and out.  My daughters and I enjoyed watching her perform last year in the lead role of Jo in a musical version of Little Women and let me tell you....this girl has got some serious TALENT. And now she has entered a singing contest with entrants from around the world...and she deserves to win.

I NEED A BABY...

I need a newborn, quickly before it gets any later in the season!  I just bought a fabulously unique basket and I would LOVE to try it out. 

Here's what I need - a newborn baby 2 weeks or younger with parents willing to sign a model release AND willing to do a mini session outside in the evening (6:30-7:30pm).

Energetic Brothers...

These boys sure gave me a bit of a workout.  :)  We had great fun crossing bridges, watching ducks and running through dew damp grass.  Oh, and watch out for spiders and webs first thing in the morning.  Oh what fun!

 

Little Miss Expressive...

This little one was so fabulously expressive.  She had me and her family cracking up for the entire session.  What a hoot! 

 

That behind her back is "Curly Bear", a most important friend. :)

This is actually a look that she will do on command if you're lucky...looks like I'm lucky!

And who could forget big sister....what a beauty!

Childhood...

I love this image.  I love the essence of childhood frozen for a fleeting moment.  And I love that she's barefoot.  :)

 
And little sister...what a doll.  I asked her where her belly button was, and this was her response.  So cute!

I was discussing with Mom a recent session I had, you remember the little gal with all the attitude?  I was mentioning the posing and model shots.  Well, big sister was listening and said, "I can do that!"  And indeed she can. 

Squishy...

As with so many newborns, this is the first word that comes into my head when I see this little gal...squishy.  I just love it when they come into the studio, so fresh....so new.  Isn't she just a adorable?   Thanks for the honor of capturing your little, "squishy" one.

…this sweet face?  Well, granted, the last time she was featured here she was sound asleep in every photo…but yep, this is my banner baby!  Three months old and just as sweet and beautiful as she was as a newbie.
